Default gutted the cat

so i gutted me cat yesterday, much better, but now me exaust stinks, is that normal? also my egr is unhooked, could that cause bad smelling exaust?

1 1/2 inc wholesaw, followed by a 1" spade bit

what do you mean by egr unhooked?.......the pipe or the valve thingy?

when i got the truck the valve was all melted and unhooked, gonna go to the junk yard and get a new one today
