Default Bad day for the truck =(...some opinions appreciated.

well not actually today, but i haven't been on here since ive been kind of mad about the truck but its time to fix it...last snow fall here i was driving on a mountain road to go quading with a group of friends..and there was a section where the water flowed across the road and froze and i couldn't see it under the snow....so the truck went straight into some trees and almost off a 20ft cliff..thank you 4x4 aka no tow truck. and thankful i was driving sensibly slow. anyway....i know this is alot of unrelated stuff that happened at once but...front fender ruined, bed smashed in, but it hammered out, passenger door got bent back to normal...passenger lens smashed...water pump went, the truck drives straight at the 10oclock position, when im on the gas and let off it backfires once kind of loud, when i start it cold it stalls i need to give it steady gas, at operating temperature it stops, sometimes it hesitates and backfires out the throttle body. Drips power steering fluid.

ok questions-

1. I unbolted everything i can see, i can wiggle it alittle, but for the life of me i cant get the fender off, how do you do it?

2. The leak and not steering straight are obviously related. its leaking where the pivot arm goings into the power steering motor, do you think all that needs to be replaced is the pivot arm? im putting on a 2 inch spacer in the front so i plan on taking all the suspension apart when i do this.

3. I have another IAC, and another TPS. Im pretty sure that will take care of the idle, and hesitation. Theres no plenum leak. Could these be related to the 1 loud backfire pop? I think it might need a new front O2 sensor.

Truck has no codes. 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 318..116000. Superchips, FIPK no more, headers, no cat, flowmaster, 2.5 duels, 180 tstat. eh i forget the rest haha

Time to get the truck back in good shape for summer trips...and i forget what guy it is but i like the bedliner around the rockers idea..cause it will take care of where the paint chipped off the bed and lower door.

As far as the steering goes, I would say you have bent tie rods and or trac bar. Possible control arm issues also. And I would say you are on the right track with the 3rd question, however, I don't remember seeing any backfire issues when those items go bad. Maybe the coil or dist. cap got cracked. Or possibly the vacuum lines got tore off the front axle and you have a vacuum leak.

sorry for your bad news. that sucks.

i've not seen iac nor tps cause backfiring. backfire or popping is usually raw gas in the exhaust or a valve not closing or something fuel related. any possibility you tore off the 02 or its wiring, although i'd think the 02 would come into play once warmed up more so than cold. one experiment you could try is to simply unplug 02 wire and see if it makes any difference.

If that is what happened, I'd say it would have a CEL ? Which is why I went in the direction I did. But, it could even be some spark plug wires got jolted from the impact, so I would check those too. Could be anything of course.

For the fender, there is a bolt @ the bottom of the door and on the back inside wheel well. I think there are also some bolts under the headlight.

Superchips tuner is the microtuner, non updatable, thanks for the input guys, i'll switch the sensors and let you know...the passenger door doesnt open cause the fenders in the way, so that explains why i couldn't get it off haha...i just think its wierd theres no CEL. im going to change the o2 anyway
