Default Rev limiter

Hey guys... first off I have a 2001 Ram 1500 2wd 5.2L. I have NO off the line torque. Yesterday I was almost beaten by a minivan, and dont say it was the driving. I was told by a friend that there is a way to disconnect the rev limiter, or even install a switch to temporarily disconnect it. I am assuming that the R.L. is connected to the tranny somewhere. Does anyone know where this wire/plug is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

Why do you want to disconnect the rev limiter? Are you going to try doing 6000 rpm neutral drops to smoke the tires off the line better? The stock cam doesn't make power way up high, so you could possibly see no gains whatsoever, with the downside being potential valve float.

My 73 plymouth duster had the same exact problem. I ended up unbolting the original 225 slant six from the starter motor and replacing it with a 440 8-barrel. Off-the-line torque really increased!!!!!
