Front driveshaft angle
Hey guys im new on here but i have a question and i hope some one knows.
this past weekend i put a lift in my 2001 ram and its all there but the angle on my front driveshaft where it meets the transfer case is tight and im afraid when front suspenion drops im afraid it will cause that shaft bind at the knuckle. so my uestion is does anyone know if or where i could find a higher angle shaft or maybe just the joint?

You shouldn't need to for a 5". Maybe if it's a regular cab short bed but more than likely you will not need to worry about it. If you still feel you need to, instead of buying a custom shaft, clearance it slightly. You can find information on clearancing on SkyJacker or Superlift's websites. Can't remember which.

With 5-7" of lift the front shaft is usually just fine.
There are a few things can do. You can get an indexing ring that will rotate the transfer cases front shaft output down (Skyjackers 7" kit comes with one, as well as the new cross member to accomidate it), you can grind around the upper double cardan joint (the Fabtech kit comes with directions on how/where to do this), or you can purchase an expensive new driveshaft. But, you should be just fine.
Just jack the front of the truck up until the axle is fully drooped and reach under and spin the front shaft... if it binds then you should do something about it.
You could also get limiting straps to prevent the axle from fully drooping, but whats the fun in that.
