Default p1389 help

just took my truck in to get smogged. When they went to start it all it did was turn over and it did not fire up till about 3 minutes later. Now theres a code p1389 on there. P1389 No Auto Shutdown (ASD) Relay Output Voltage At PCM. What does this mean? Now my truck starts normally about 70% of the time the other 30% it just cranks and cranks and cranks untill it starts. I now have triple a on standby. I have 13 days left to fix this problem because my truck did not pass smog because of this, emission were fine just the trouble code. thanks for your help. While Iwas checking the codes I found p0622. generator feild not switching properly, what does this mean? Thanks again

The ASD relay shuts down the engine in case of a roll over.

Check your relays in the PDC.

I believe the "generator field" p0622 usually has to do with the alternator.

Default where to find asd relay

anyone know where I can get the asd relay? I've been to the stealerships, pepboys, kragen and autozone. Is the automatic shutdown relay and the fuel relay the same? thanks again

It looks to me like its the same as any of the other relays around it that are the same physical size... the transmission relay, the wiper motor relay, the A/C clutch relay (if equipped with A/C), the security system relay (if equipped with factory security system), or the horn relay.
