Default Out with the old...

So the old Trans is out, and the new mega viper sits under the truck waiting to be thrown in. I think my check valve in the cooler return line is to blame. It was clogged until I shook it, then it spewed out burnt fluid into my face as I looked into it. A temp sensor would have me known the valve was clogged.

Now I need to gut my cat, clean all the grease and gunk off hoses, linkage, wires, ect. Also need to drop the flexplate (flywheel) and give it a good sand and clean. Then blow the cooler lines out with air and maybe a new Trans cooler. I heard the old ones can be deceiving and flow cold but not hot. Oh, new U joints while the drive shafts are out.

Didn't go with the street shift, opted for the tow shift kit and the 2k stall. Also larger trans pan. Did you replace your cooler?

I went with the street strip. I snagged the flex-a-lite cooler with fan and thermal sensor.

hey, take a look at the freeze plugs on the back of the block and heads while you got everything out. several people have reported leaks from them lately.

mega viper sounds impressive. if you get a chance post some DIY info on the swap.
