Default tire/wheel ?

so my question is this, i'm looking at 305 MTs and have a question about them fitting my wheels - Eagle Alloy Series 185 16x10.

according to TireRack, the 305s i'm seeing (BFG, Dick Cepek, Dunlop, etc) say that the Rim Width Range is 8"-9.5" (Meas.Rim Width 9"), but i know ofat least one person on here (hometheaterman) that is running 16x10s with 305s....

is this some kind of deal where manufacturers are being conservative or should i really be worried?

thanks,
danny

Each manufacturer has their own recommendations I am sure, to keep themselves out of any liability lawsuits. A 305 is 12.4'' wide roughly, and will work just fine on a 10'' rim. Would look pretty good on a 2nd Gen.

You lifting your truck at all? Have heard some guys having issues with rubbing with a 10'' rim at full lock, depending on how much lift you are running

i would think as long as your not trying to take corners like a nascar driver you should be ok. im guessing it might allow the tire to come off the bead a little easyer

oh ya , i have a 3" susp lift that got delivered yesterday, so as soon as I can find time it will go on....with the 3" lift and 4.5" backspacing on the wheels i am not anticipating any rubbing...just wanted to make sure i wasn't going to come out of the tires --> everything has been delivered and sitting in the garage, and i kind of had an "oh sh*t" moment doubting myself.....

thanks for the responses guys

i am out of town every weekend for the next month, so just got start working on everything at night during the week -- no issue as my lexus is my dd
