You have your shoes on backwards open two tabs and bring up the old and the new shoes as mounted and compare the two. IMO

Not sure what you are saying here.
Backwards ? I was advised that the shoe with the long pad goes in front.
Open two tabs and .... I'm just not getting it, maybe its the nyquil.

your putting the back shoe on the front when you put the new shoes on. It's just something I noticed. IN both pictures the tail pipe is on the left but you have the short pad to the front with the new pads on but when you put the old ones on you reversed them. I haven't seen any mention of this in the previous posts. Nor of you trying it any other way.

Well the first try with new ones, post #8 yeah I botched that, with 2 long pads.
I did try that set the correct way without taking pics or posting about it, didn't work.
The 2nd try post #18 I have the long one in back and the short one in front, that way I was advised it is supposed to be.
The most recent set up, with the old ones again, post #29 yup, looks like I botched it again with the long one in front.
Damn.
On the + side, its getting mighty easy for me to take these apart and put back together, I think I could do it in my sleep now.
I bought one of those spring tools and found it useless, best thing for me is needle nose vice grips.
The retaining spring tool is useful though, beats doing it with thumb pressure.
