lots of work, as far as driveshaft u may need a whole nother truck for donar parts, like for driveshafts, not to mention clutch pedal and all the linkage, and you will probably need a new ECM, and possibly differnent cross members

really, in the end, its not even close to being worth it. you might as well sell the truck and buy one with a manual in it. it's not even worth all the work dude.

The easiest thing to do would be to swap the bodys. If not a body swap then why not do the conversion. If you have a complete donor truck it shouldn't be that hard. I think that the biggest problem that I've heard of is the pilot shaft. Something about not haveing a hole in it or something like that.

This is how I look at it I've seen several truck that have been converted from 2 wheel to 4 weel with no problems. I've even seen a 1500 converted into a diesel. Yea it's not going to be easy but it's not impossible.

You need to make sure to switch over the ecm's and possibly the harness. It would be easier to do if you had 2 identical trucks instead of two differnt years.

Default replace then.

Thanks people. Sounds like more trouble than its worth. Its just that being down here in Central America makes tranny repair to the Automatic more than daunting. I feel it (the tranny) acting up a bit and I know whats coming. I could have one shipped down. Where is a good source for one of these automatics on the shelf?
