And how would driving in second gear burn out your ac compressor?

don't know but it was fine till he did that. i guess it got the compressor racing too fast or something. there was grease or something that slung out of the compressor all over the place and the bearings were shot in it. i think the clutch was stuck to the pully too.

That's because it was on it's way out already, not because of driving it in second gear for 10 miles.. The extra rpm's may have broke the camels back, but that's not why it blew up. And didn't your old man teach you not to point guns at people?

well - i changed out my valve needle, filled w/can R134 and its blowing cold and holding - initially i filled w/charge/leak R134 without changing the valve needle - but this time i changed the valve needle and it seems to be holding great - cleaned the condenser unit in front (compressed air) - blowing cold thus far and holding - real test will be in the coming weeks when it gets hot - then I'll know for sure on the A/C - as for the "water-slosh" sound - coolant levels are great - no leaks, must be air in the heater core - no evidence of leaking anywhere (inside or out) - so I'll try bleeding the heater core and c how that goes - thx
