Default Axle swap - 2500/3500 into 1500

Here is the question.
Can I take front axle from 94-96 Dodge 2500 or 3500 and install it in 1500 series truck?
Of course both vehicles are 4 x 4.
Can I do this without fabricating any additional suspension mounts or else?
I know I'll end up with front wheels with 8 lugs and rear with 5 - at least for right now.

I hope this could be a drop in replacement.
Thanks for any input

Yep, basically a bolt in affair. You may need to modify the drive shaft some though depending on amount of lift and such.

I just did that swap. but i also did the rear at the same time. Everything bolts right in basicly. You need to change brake hoses and as long as you are not putting a 7in lift like i did you should not need to change the driveshaft. You will need a combo u-joint though. The other thing that maybe different is the way the sway bar mounts.
