Default 2000 with 5.9 and 110K

Found a pickup with the Auto 5.9L and 110K miles for 3500 bucks, good deal? Or would the 360 **** on me soon? I had a 89 Ramcharger with a 318 that still won't die, but is that the case ten years later?

360's ok. as long as the transmissions not about to fall out, its a decent price for 4wd. might be ok for 2wd.

yeah it is the 4wd. tranny felt good when we drove her. Anything else quirky with these? My dad has an 01 diesel that of course won't faulter, but the gas I don't know about

The 5.9 is pretty much the same motor as the 318. Both are extremely reliable engines. Sounds like a pretty good buy to me.

yeah, if transmission shifts ok both when cold and warmed up, and its 4wd, i'd give 3500. it'll be pretty much the same as your 01, except will have a lighter duty drive line. if the transmissions crapped out i wouldn't give but 1000.

i'd consider a compression test, and tell the owner up front - if the spark plug breaks off or strips - its yours, as is. these trucks have a little tendency to develp cracked heads, which is another very expensive repair.

other common problems are sloppy steering and front end, plenum leak, cracked dash, heater core. everything else is just normal.
