'96 headlights - positive switched or ground switched?

'96 headlights - positive switched or ground switched?

I can't find a definitive answer. It appears that 1999 and up may be ground switched, which leads me to believe that '94-'98 are positive switched. Who knows for sure?

You are right 1996 is positive switched. They changed to ground switched with the new turn style headlight switch in 1999.

Yep mine sure is its a pain in the neck when you are trying to hook up lights and you don't know it!

Why? You shouldn't be hooking up lights without first checking polarity.
