instrument gauge went crazy on the way to work
I installed a 14x3 round air cleaner at school last night. I took it down the road after I installed it and it seemed to be fine. This morning on the way to work driving on SR 67, my gauges started to freak out. First my abs and airbag light came on, then my fuel light comes on and the gauge quits working (I have a half a tank at this point). Then my miliage thing freaks out. then my check engine light comes on. What is the cause of this is it because I installed the round air cleaner?
I have all those problems as well (aside from the check engine light). Good luck figuring it out, I have been dinking around with stuff for a while and cant quite seem to pin point it. The gas gage not working is typically the sending unit deal in the tank starting to go south (so I have researched anyway), and the wacky speedo and ABS/brake light deal is usually the speed sensor on the rear axle, which I have changed and mine still dosnt work right
Although it just happened to start doing it right after you installed the air filter, I doubt that is the culprit... but you never know.

Oh, and if your check engine light is on, just turn the key forward to the on position and back to the off position 3 times (the last time leaving it in the on position), and a code will flash where the digital miles are shown. Then you can look the code up which will help with figuring out some of your problems.
Well at lunch i went to the vp to get a drink and before i left the parking lot at work the code p1494 came on. Something about the leak detection pump. I read in another thread about somebody having to relocate it after you install the 14x3 is that true? Any help would be helpful.
