Question Upgrading my Dodge 2000 5.9

I wanted to ask you all for your opinion on upgrading my Ram 1500’s motor. I was thinking about replacing the fuel injection and intake, say a holley. I’ve been doing a lot of off-roading and the power I get out of this thing sucks. I’m probably pulling a 24 second on the track. I know that it all has to do with the gearing, considering it doesn’t shift to overdrive until about 80. But that’s cheap and easy, what I really want is to push this thing over 400 ponies. Any ideas? And I want to start out with one thing at a time, I still have to drive this thing.

Put some 4.10 or 4.56 gears in it for starters. That'll get it moving.

400 hp? You're gonna need a 408 stroker in there, and probably a super charger, or turbo charger. Superchargers are more common and less expensive.
