As said in the title this is not a Dodge related problem, but I thought I'd post and get your guys' opinions. My girlfriend has a 2000 Buick Century and she gets a static shock everytime she gets in or out of the car. Anything I can do for that? What causes it? Its annoying so thought I'd see if I can get rid of it. Thanks for any input.

 

Check the wiring in the boot between the door and the door jamb.

 

put a static strap on the car.

 

I have had it happen to me just getting out of the truck. When you get out u slide across your seats and then touch metal, causes a little shock. If it happens all the time, i agree w/ zman, check the wires that run through the boot.

 

Check for exposed wires you mean? If there are exposed wires can I wrap them with electrical tape and would that work??

 

it should, you want to make it a thick wrap up though. The wire is rubbing the door and the energy runs through the door and u shock yourself if you touch the door (if thats you issue)
