Default Wtf?

I know this place depends on advertising, but what's with the Chevy Silverado ads? I come here to read up on my Dodge, not to be bombarded with Chevy ads.

Would you rather ignore a Chevy ad, or have to pay $ a year to use the forum?

Kinda hard to ignore when they show up as both a banner ad and a sidebar ad. This place is already difficult to read because all the ads make the pages load so slow even on a very fast cable connection. With all the info and activity this site sees I would rather be able to navigate it quickly without all the ads and pay a small membership fee. And what's the point of accepting ads from competitors? If I trade my Dodge in on a Chevy do you think I'll be coming back here after? Makes no sense.

It makes money sense, and that's all that matters. This subject has been brought up before. Bottom line is $. Go to a Chevy or Ford site, they will have Dodge ads.

And maybe you should get your computer checked. I have a standard cable modem connection, and this site load pretty quick. Maybe you have computer or browser issues.

I think it's awesome they are charging gm in order to keep this site free for everyone else.

Given Chrysler's current situation, I kinda doubt that.

True about Chrysler, but they have nothing to do with this site. Obviously.

If you use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer, it will load faster. In addition to that, Firefox has a free browser add-on called ABP, Ad Block Plus. It will block pretty much all the advertisements on here from loading, and that speeds up the loading even more.

This is what I see with Internet Explorer:

And this is Firefox with ABP:
