problem during 318 tear down

Default problem during 318 tear down

im ***** deep into my 318 and i cant figure out how to get the darn distributer gear out. it runs right through to the back main bearing cap ao i was thinking of givin it some help with a hammer but stopped just in case. anybody know any tricks or how to's with the lil buggers. im thinkin it might just be so bunged up shes a bit tight is all.

Try turning the motor a little, maybe the two gears are binding on each other slightly.

Agreed. Don't ever force a part, especially with a hammer. Very bad things will happen.

Do you have the Magnum rebuild manual? It's available on Amazon.com and is an excellent resource for a rebuild. It helped me quite a bit.
