Default 98 need new steering wheel

i guess the last owner parked it so where the sun hit the steering wheel. its chiped and flakeing away. but the dash and so forth is just fine. and i dont want a cover, i like the feeling of thin wheels. so my question, where can i find one, how much trouble, whuts the risks?

hahaha... I think you'd be able to pull the whole wheel off and un hook some wires in the back.. but I've never done this.. or head of it being done either!

This is an easy process, all you need special is a steering wheel puller, a socket bid enough for the nut, and do your self a favor and invest in a haynes manual or download the one for free in the merry christmas thread.

Yes, I replaced my crummy one with a not-so-crummy used one, but I still have a crummy wheel. If you're concerned about the air bags, you disable them by disconnecting the battery, and waiting five plus minutes for the backup capacitors to discharge. But where (besides maybe the stealership) can you grab a new wheel?
