Default Egr Tube

I have a quick question. When i was doing the plenum pan i deleted the egr valve tube (the tub that goes from the egr to the exhaust manifold) Will this cause my engine to smoke (from the exhaust)?

i don't think so. the egr sucks exhaust gases back into the air intake for faster warm up, less emissions, blah, blah. if you seal off the exhaust, then it should not have anywhere to draw air from, and do nothing. i'm not familiar with dodge egr setup, but as long as egr is not sucking up oil somewhere, somehow, then it shouldn't be a cause of smoke.

I was seeing the egr right now and found that it had a burnt hole through it (the black piece, will that cause it to smoke

Is there an advantage to removing the EGR system? More power? Better MPG's? Anthing?

your truck doesnt have it....but since it sucks in exhaust, blocking it keeps the air from being warmed up and colder air is better air
