Hey, I just had a general question. How often should I change my tranny filter. I'm not talking about the tranny filter in the transmission pan, rather my auxiliary remote filter.

 

i change the fluid (drain plug) and external filter about once a year, and drop the pan and change the internal filter about every 2 years. i don't drive much, maybe 10k year. don't let the internal filter go to long. if it stops up your toast.

 

Okay, so I got a follow up question. I bought a remote filter from the bone yard. It was a remote fuel filter off of an 89 chevy deisel, I think. Anyway, I took the remote filter to walmart to see what oil filter would fit it and I couldn't find one for the life of me!!! There was one size that was maybe an 1/8 inch to small. Am I missing something here? I think the thread is an inch wide. Are fuel filter threads different then oil filters?
