just bought a ram, had a question
i just bought a 2001 dodge ram with a 5.2L. last week i was reading posts on here about "death flash" and the plenum gasket problem. i noticed most of the posters signatures had the 5.9L and i was curious if anyone knows if those problems exist on the 5.2L as well. i checked the PCM and didnt find any stickers, and i wasnt sure if they built the engines differently.
More than likely you got the infamous death flash. And for your future endeavors, 95% of the parts for these trucks interchange no matter if its the 5.2 or the 5.9
OTHERS: Don't flame me I didn't say all of them....
And good jobby job 4x45.9, another post that didn't need editing...

I just posted a TSB on how to check the plenum right above your post with the question. You can also check it by pulling the air intake and opening the butterflies of the TB and looking with a flashlight and small mirror to see if you have any oil pooling down there. Problem is, the other way is better.
