It wouldn't make any difference if you started with a stock PCM or a Mopar Performance PCM. As soon as you put the SCT on there, that's all you have is the SCT program, nothing more.

jmhai,
I've had the stock computer, Hypertech programmer, Mopar Performance PCM, and a B&G flash, and the B&G was so far ahead of all the others, it wasn't even funny. I had them give me a modified M1 flash with torque management removed. It is an awesome tune in my opinion. Not as flexible as the SCT though since with the B&G, you only get the one tune.

If I was to buy another 1996 PCM and send that to B&G.. Even if it had a death flash it wouldn't matter right, they blow the old stuff out when loading the new right..?

Yup, that's right. The one I sent them wasn't even for the same transmission that my truck has, but the new flash has all that. They even flashed my VIN onto it so it is just like my stock PCM.

Thanks Silver, thats why I made the thread, I was thinking it would either let my tunes be more flexible or it would just run the sct as it was.

If it did work, my next question would be if i could swap my pcm for a 97s but that would bring more problems and compatability issues on its own( i would imagine).

Thanks guys for your cin<<

Yeah that's a good deal. I can't comment too much on it since I just put it in yesterday but I LOVE mine so far, low end torque and response is soo much better and I like the higher rev limit. Be aware you need to run 92 octane.

Swapping a 97 PCM into a 96 might not be a good idea. There were "hybrid" OBD-II standards around that time and it might make a big mess.
