My 1998 oldsobile intrigue's window will not go up or down, when you click the switch the motor works and you hear it go up and down but the window stays down what could this be please help.

 

something broken or loose in the regulator/linkage stuff.
remove the door panel and see what it is.

 

My brother's 1993 Oldsmobile Cierra's driver's side window did that. His wouldn't work at all though, turned out the motor was fried. Meineke installed a new one for him.

A month after that, it did exactly what you are describing. His turned out to be a bolt that had not been properly tightened during the install of the new motor. He took it back to Meineke, they apologized, took the door apart, and tightened the bolt for free, and it works great now.
