if i just put a new aftermarket muffler on my truck would it make it louder or would i need to buy a whole system to make it louder

 

a less restrictive muffler would make your truck louder...flowmaster, magnaflow, gibson, thorley, etc...go with a cat back exhaust kit

 

an aftermarket muffler will make it louder (if you buy the right one) an entire exhaust system will make it even louder.

If you want the most bang for your buck just cut your muffler off and replace it with a piece of 2.5 inch pipe. Won't be super loud, but it'll sound nice.

Go on youtube and listen to them all. There's lots of dodge rams on there.
