temp question

I will flush out the radiator tommorow. Should I buy the prestone flush or just put a hose in the cap? I have heard that the flushes can clog the heater core. Thanks again for the help.

If you think the radiator is clogged and you want to dislodge it, it would be wise of you to just flush and reverse flush the radiator instead of doing the whole system. That way, if you do dislodge it, that junk won't be introduced to the rest of your cooling system. On a side note, I've heard of people using CLR to flush there system. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Check your fan clutch. The surging issue can be caused by a failing clutch.

I replaced the fan clutch when I did the water pump. Wouldnt be the t stat would it? I didnt replace that.

Not usually, Those either fail closed causing you over heat. Unless you installed a fail safe which in case of a problem, will fail in the open position.
