Default Thrust Washer

I have a 2001 Doge Ram 1500 4x4 5.2L with 3.55 Trac-lok dif. I was wondering i been having alot of trouble with the rearend lately had to replace pinion bearings then it was making noise after that when i turned got some thicker lube and that took care of it but now i cracked it open again and found a half moon shape piece of metal which is im pretty sure the thrust washer my question is is it hard to change? the manual i have shows like 3 special tools i will need. or if i have to take it in what would be a rough estamate? i replaces the diff bearings while i had it out i was having still whinding noises i didnt have the locknuts tightened right readjusted them and thats when the washer broke im thinking.... i have a feeling im prob gonna have to take it in which sucks cause its prob gonna be like $1,000
