brakes?

i got quoted for new rear brakes and a replacement emergency brake cable at 600 bucks, is that right

Shoes, springs, cylinders, drums, labor... cable. Yep. That's a brake shop price. You could do it yourself for half that.

I hope he's not just having the shoes replaced along with the E cable. That's crazy, man I'm glad I can work on my own vehicles. Of course I might run into a few probs when it comes time to work on the Z3 , LOL Got the fsm for that also. The best fsm I have ever seen btw, not that it matters . Just sayin' LOL

Lets see......I did new Raysbestos shoes, drums, springs, 1-Ton wheel cylinders, and front brake pads from RockAuto.com $270 out the door. If you own a Haynes manual, some tools, and time, you should DIY. I did both sides in one day.
