the reason is....i plan on running straights and a boy told me that on his camaro he took it to a shop and plugged it in and turned them off
"Turning off" the front O2 sensor would make the engine run rich constantly, and you'd get horrible MPGs (more so than we already get). The computer needs the front O2 sensor to determine the best air/fuel ratio after the initial "open loop" warm-up time.
I am not familiar with Camaros at all, perhaps he had the computer custom flashed to not use his rear O2 (I'm guessing). As far as I know, thats not possible with our engines. I'm pretty sure you can't plug a tool into the PCM and "shut off" O2 sensors, the EPA would probably be all over that if it was anywhere near possible. I'm curious to what was done (or if a shop just lied to him and actually did something else). What year of Camaro was it?
I am not sure this has been a while back. I probly will end up gettin a high flo cat and just run no muffler. The police down here dont really care about pipes.
was one non fouler bored out not efficiant with this truck? only asking cause i want to do this and everything i have read only stated 1 non fouler. So is 2 better?
You need two, I don't think they make a long enough one in the size we need. I have done this, and used 2 short ones and drilled out one of them with a 1/2" bit.
