Angry Damn car wash!

Ok, So all my friends were raving about this new car wash that went in in my part of the country. Kept telling me I needed to go there, best wash my truck would ever have. So yesterday we had a break in the rain, and forcasters were saying no rain for the next week. Well, the plan was to go do some fishin at the lake, and I knew that people would be riding with me. I figured what the hell, I'll go. I get there, and there are like 10 different wash options (You ride through this). I pick a mid range wash that had under blasting, and a few other "chemicals". Get up to the start, and findout that I have to remove my antenna, and wrap my mirrors. I figure what the hell, and do it. I get into this wash, and you might as well been driving through a hurricane. My whole truck has been reshot with paint in the last 5 years, and the qualitity was not the best. So I'm sitting in this wash hoping like hell I dont get holes blown in my paint! Get through the wash and rinse, pull out, and the truck looks wonderful...... Until I walk around to the front of the truck.....Name: 0530091842-01.jpg

So I spent the day reshooting the grill And to make matters worse, I had to go to 7 different stores to find Flame red paint.
It hasnt been a good day...

lol, I never ever ever go to the lake with a dirty truck. You wont find many that will.... Maybe those that are there to drive on the beach or something.

And after three hours and seven coats of paint later, I think I should be good to go this time.
I know the guy that owns the car wash saw me having a temper tantrum on his lot and he came over to investigate, I guess he thought I was going to sue him or something. I couldn't get through to him that this was a $12 screw up. I guess if this doeskin work, I could always have some clear laminate thrown on it to keep it from chipping off....

Does that car wash make your truck look really good? Because I can make mine look REALLY good the old fashioned way. Never go to an automated car wash (except in the winter ).

I took my truck before prom to get washed. Paid 17 bucks. Well I would have done better at the fire house with a brush. The truck wasn't event muddy at all. Just normal road dirt. There was still dirt along the fenders.

Well after letting the paint dry once again, I got her mounted up on the hood today. Have to wait until the paint finishes curing to throw the bug shield back on.

I took mine to the auto wash in my town. Once was enough for me. The way its setup you almost can't turn into it with a truck the size of mine. Then the wash sucked. I've been to better ones but I don't get up where the good one is anymore. I probably couldn't fit in it now anyway

I'm too tall to fit in them now.
Man, who goes to prom with a clean truck? You're supposed to go mud'n before you pick her up.

You guys do know those automated washes will mess up the clear coat right? That's what I've been told from body shops and I don't doubt it at all from the experiences I've had with them.
