Question reverse is binding

I just bought a 1998 ram 5.2, with 20000kms 2 weeks ago. I re did all the body on it and it came out real nice. But the transmission is being weird, all forward gears are perfect, but reverse its like there is something holding me back, checked the brakes not that, im pretty sure its in the tranny, Changed the fluid and filter this morning it was dark but no deposits in the pan it was clean really, any ideas?

You may have a cross leak into the forward clutch circuit when reverse is applied.

Not really. I've forgotten my parking brake was set and didn't figure it out until I tried to back. As I said, I wasn't trying to be a smart-***. Sometimes the little crap will kick you in the nards.

Have you jacked the rear end up and confirmed that the wheels turn freely backwards? (turning both at the same time.)

Default tried jacking it up

I jacked up the rear last nite, it will turn in reverse for about 10secs then locks up, then, you need to gas it for them to move again.
