Heated mirror question
I have a 2001 1500 Off Road package, it has heated mirrors. A few years ago I pushed the heat button for the mirrors and the fuse popped. It is the 10 amp that also runs the blower motor. Brilliant design, not only do to you loose your mirrors but you fog up on the inside as well. Anyway, I decided to tackle this job in hopes that I could get it fixed by this winter. I removed the driver’s door panel and unplugged the mirror assembly, powered up the truck and hit the mirror heat – Pop! OK, must be the other side (errrrr…of course). Put the driver’s door back together and removed the passenger side and unplugged the assembly, no pop, fan still works. So, it’s the right mirror.
Has anyone ever found/fixed the short in a heated mirror? Everything looks normal but I can't see behind the glass.
Any help would be apprciated.
