So is it just smart to get the bodylift since everythings in it

Body lifts are much harder than they look.

i would say so, from what i hear if youve got a friend or two to help and are decent with tools its not too bad

Well i know one guy who would help me. Hes also a mechanic and he installed a 4" lift on his sons tahoe and he helped my friend out on her lift. so installing it shouldnt be a big problem

Wit a body lift you have to extend lines steering shaft. blah blah. Suspension just picks the hole truck up. You might still have to extend some lines.

So youre suggesting suspension?? thatll give me the look im goin for?

When it comes down to it its up to you. Body lifts sound like a pain. Your are a 2wd so you will have to replace a few more parts.(listed) I like the look of a suspension much better than a body.

EDIT: a body lift will just pick up the hole truck a sus lift will make it level and jack it up.. What are you plans for wheels/tires?

well, with the body lift, it comes with the extender for the shifter and the steering so thats not a problem and i believe your brake lines are safe

The only thing about a body lift, is it literally lifts the entire chassis off of the frame. The kits usually come with everything you need to do the lift, but not always. Most don't include both bumper brackets, so you have to spend another hundred. Since the bumper is bolted to the frame, it will look 3" lower than the chassis. Other things to consider are step-rails, bumper guards, etc. The kit will not come with parts to pick these up as well, so you will have to fabricate them to make it match. One more thing to think about it, you won't get any clearance with a body lift. The frame sill stay where it is, so potential offroading would be a pain.

A suspension does the opposite. It picks both the frame and body up together as one, giving you some added clearance, which definantly helps us lower 2WD's. You can get suspension kits for relatively cheap, you just have to research some things. Like most on here said, upper-control arms and such will be out of line with more angle introduced to them, which will require aftermarket. They aren't cheap. Dealers to look for are:

that kit that i linked to comes with a front bumper bracket, but not a rear.....you can get one for around $50.......
