Default Rookie snow plow questions.

Read through threads on this topic, have the following observation and hoping those with experience can correct/agree with me.

Putting a plow on the front of a 1/2 ton isn't too bad if you keep a smaller blade. The only real downside to a smaller blade is making multiple passes.

I don't need a plow now, never had one before, but seriously kicking around buying some investment property that has a driveway that's a solid 100' long, small parking area behind the house. The parking area is the length of the house and about 30' wide.

It's an old mansion that I would probably rent out for a year or so until I was ready to sell my house , then I'd move into it and renovate from a 3 family back into a historic mansion.

Really don't want to sell my truck for a 3/4 ton for a plow. Always thought I'd put a plow on my truck at some point, but only when I had a long enough driveway to justify it. Think this amount of work would be too taxing for a half ton, especially since once I live there, wouldn't be driving the truck with the blade on the front much at all. Would end up getting helper springs immediately since the truck would really start making some serious home depot trips.

Would like to know if anyone has a plow on a half ton and what damage they've had as a result.

don't have a plow, but you should be able to run one, check your owners manual, it should have the weight ratings for a half ton, mine does
just may want to beef up the tranny, it aint easy on them, the motor will handle it just fine

check these out there not as good but it will do the job. There not very heavy at all. I have a 190f tX 8ft wide drive way. I shovel it and dig out 3 cars.

^$^$&^%$...nevermind, think I missed it.

Noticed over the weekend they dropped the price on the house again 10 days ago. Came home today and called the bank to start putting numbers together. Took the dogs for a walk a half hour ago and noticed the sign is down, it was still in the yard this afternoon. Guessing someone snapped it up. Seriously considered buying it in January but felt it was over priced, they dropped it nearly 30k since then. Went for 80k....damn.
