Default Looking for a P 1388 fix

I did the key dance and recieved a P 1388 code which is variable cam timing over retarded (Bank #2). Does anyone know the fix for this? Please tell me that I don't have to take it to the stealership.

a P1388 is an open or short detected in the ASD (automatic shutdown) relay control curcuit.

SYMPTOM
P1388-AUTO SHUTDOWN RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT

WHEN MONITORED
With ignition key ON and battery voltage above 10.4 volts .

SET CONDITION
An open or shorted condition is detected in the ASD Relay control circuit.

POSSIBLE CAUSES


Intermittent condition
ASD relay resistance
Fused ignition switch output circuit
ASD relay control circuit shorted to ground
ASD relay control circuit open
PCM

Default Wow, a little deep for me

Thanks for the reply. I don't have a DRBIII. I use to work in the Jeep Assembly plan in Toledo so I do know what that is but wouldn't know what to do with it if it hit me in the head.

I was working on my heated mirror issue and was unplugging some of the electrical switches in the doors. Would something like that set it off? Could I do the old unplug the battery trick to reset it?

you only need the scanner to make sure that the code you are diagnosing is still present, the rest can be done with an multimeter.

The info I found with that other issue was probably/maybe info someone posted from Alldata, but I don't think so. Oh well.
