Leveling kits
Went to the website and read this:
"Due to a design issue with Dodge Ram front differential and suspension, some owners may experience a vibration in the front end when in 4x4 mode, or a violent shaking vibration of the front wheels when going over a bump at speed. These two symptoms are often called a “death wobble”, but actually appear to be two different problems with the Ram truck.
The 4HI mode vibration is a vibration or shudder that occurs when accelerating in 4x4 high mode. This affects Dodge Ram 1500 non Mega Cabs; Dodge could not discover why their stock trucks would do this for some customers. The solution for Dodge was to state that there is no problem and that all of the new Rams will shudder or shake when in 4x4 high. This symptom appears isolated to 2006-2008 1500 non-Mega Cab model trucks when in 4-hi mode, although not all of the trucks will exhibit the problem.
The steering wobble or vibration has to do with the steering/ball joint equipment. Dodge has released a TSB about this problem: Daimler Technical Service Bulletin # 22-005-06. This affects 1994-2008 Dodge Ram 1500MC/2500/3500 4x4's.
In either case, it has become apparent that raising or lifting the front of the Dodge Ram pickup may amplify these existing OEM problems. In some cases the symptoms exist on non-modified stock vehicles.
It is Hell Bent Steel's position that if you have installed a 110-200-001, 110-250-001 or 120-200-001, 120-250-001 kit onto your Dodge Ram truck and experience either of the two symptoms mentioned, IMMEDIATELY HAVE THE LEVELING KIT REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE!"
Holy crap!

How common is this wobble issue?
I've heard of this issue with IFS trucks because wheel camber changes as the suspension goes through its range, but not on a solid axle front end. Think I'll stick with the 1.5" just to be safe.

How common is this wobble issue? They are covering their ****. I can assure you that the spacers when mounted are sturdy as can be on my truck. I don't think the spacers themselves cause the issue, it is the lift that causes the issue. That said... that means you would probably feel the same from coil springs. My front end does seem to have a little bounce sometimes (vertical), but from my understanding that is not what the death wobble is. Even so, that was there before the level so it is probably just worn out components in the front end more so than anything. Or it could be as simple as an alignment in my case since I know it is off. I wouldn't sweat it one bit if I were you. If I had to do it all over again, I would do the same thing. Wish ya luck!
I put 2" Hell Bent Steel leveling kit on my truck about two months ago and I haven't had a problem yet.

The more I think about it, the more I think I will be fine with the 2" setup. The truck has sagged about 3/4"-1" since new, so a 2" leveling kit would really be only about 1" lift over stock. I doubt that's enough to throw a RAM 2500 out of whack.
UPDATE: OK, I ordered the 2" kit from 4Wheel Fab today ($65 shipped). Should be installing it next week. I did some measuring and there's about a 4" difference between the rear and the front (measuring from top of the tire to the top of the wheelwell). The driver's side is about 3/4" lower due to sag caused by rarely having a passenger and the 34 gallon gas tank on that side. I'm thinking I will swap the left coil for the right one to kind of balance it out. I doubt there will be any issues with steering or alignment, but I will probably have to re-aim the headlights. I'll take pics of the before and after.
FYI...I just put the Daystar 1 1/2" leveling spacers on my 96 2WD. I had to do ball joints, rotors etc..., so popping the springs out and putting the spacers in was easy.
If anyone puts spacers in, loosen the lower control arm bushings about 2 turns. This will allow the lower control arm to fully drop (after you removed the spindle etc...) and will release all compression on the spring. Further, it makes it easy putting the spacer in place.
