Default cold engine miss

anytime that i start my truck with the engine cold (not outside temp) and i drive with light throttle there seems to be a miss in the engine that i can feel......WOT is fine.....after the truck is up to temp, its great and cant feel any thing....if any of yall have ever experienced moiture in your dizzy cap, its kinda like that....then, the other day i went to take off and it was cuttin out bad pullin out of the driveway, then bam, it cleared up.....thats the only time it has done that.....i have 2 assumptions as to what it could be....
1- i have an accel coil on it thats about a year old, not sure if it could be temp related tho
2- my egr tube is blocked off which i understand is supposed to help the truck warm up

any ideas are appreciated

Blocking the EGR shouldn't cause that problem. It is only there to recirculate exhaust gasses in order to draw them through the intake again to more efficiently burn the mixture. A coil would give you that problem in the reverse of the issue you have. Coil's are known to act up when an engine gets hot. It could possibly have some kind of fault that could cause that condition but it wouldn't be my first choice to fix your problem. What about the coolant temp. sensor? There are several other things that could cause that. Do you have a scanner and if so do you have any codes?

OK the EGR code is because it is most likely finding it out of range on occasion which is because you capped it off. The TCC code wouldn't have anything to do with a miss in the engine. maybe you have some moisture on the engine when the engine is cold and are getting some arching for the first few till it clears up. < That was purely guessing.

Did you do the TSB on your plug wires? I have not had any personal experience with this problem but maybe that is your issue. What brand of wires did you use? If they are the cheap Autozone or Advance Auto specials they are probably arching like crazy. An easy way to find out is to take a spray bottle with water in it and spray your plug wires and watch for arching. You should do this when it is dark out. It is easier to see that way.

Try doing that test with the water bottle and see what happens. i bet those wires are arching to the engine causing your problem and as the engine warms up the silicone insulation is expanding ans sealing the electrical leak that you are experiencing. You have to disable your underhood light and do it where it is DARK in order to see it.

You say that the egr tube is blocked off but is the egr valve still installed ?
