Default Intake Manifold Question......

Alright, getting towards the end of my deployment here in Kumar's homeland and trying to find cool ways to spend all that money that I havent been able to spend on beer! I want to get an intake and use my local US Gov't sand blaster and refinish it. First question, can I use an older model intake (ie. 92-95) with an EGR? I'm almost sure that all I gotta do is plug the port, but then again its been 11months since I've seen my truck and have never messed with an intake on the older models. Second, I understand the whole kegger mod thing. Not a problem, but does anybody have any info on the best way to cut the runners or what angle? Thanks for the info guys!

Yeah, Ive read that thread about 3 times....sounds to easy to do. Thanks for the heads up about the coolant sensors. I dont think Im goin to have any problems cutting the intake. A die grinder and rotary file set will take care of it nicely. So does anybody got any suggestions for how much and what angle to cut the runners at?

Just an idea, but if you have the dough, why not put a hughe's intake in? Something that will allow for better breathing?

+1 on cutting them all the way down. but, since you're getting back from a deployment and having some dough, i would get the hughes intake. definitely better than the kegger.

My bad guys.....truck's got a 5.9 in it. I hear you on putting a complete different intake on it, but as soon as I get out of Alaska there will be a gooseneck hitch in the back and E series tires all the way around. The truck has under 60,000miles on it and I can never get my money back out of it, so eventually it will get a flat bed and spend the rest of its days down on the farm. Thats why Im not just going out and buying an aftermarket intake. Plus, yeah I got the money but there's so many toys to spend it on! New furniture for my AK, new varmit rifle, a new saddle, gotta get new tires, etc. So the cut the runners all the way down is the best for the 360? Sounds good to me. If I get the time and have access to a couple intakes, I might do a couple different cuts and see what works the best! BTW wjxavier, nice pic of a 47!!!
