Ok, still no MPG reports as of yet since I haven't driven it enough to know. BUT....

HOLY POWER INCREASE BATMAN! That truck has NO problem holding 70mph on the freeway anymore! It used to struggle at that speed in OD and now it cruises with very little gas pedal at that speed! Yay!!!

Cool, I have not been on the highway yet. Hope I see that improvement as well. Like I said, I didn't notice much if any bottom end improvement.

So where did you guys pick up the new sensor? I agree with someone earlier that Autozone parts are kinda crappy. I just get oil there as it's cheapest. Should I (and others) go to Dodge?

You can get the ACDelco MAP from Rock auto for about $90 after shipping. (I wouldn't buy a Standard Motor Products part, if I were you, BTW.)

I got a BWD brand MAP from O'Reillys for about $5-$10 more. Lifetime Warranty, so I can take it back to O'Reillys if anything happens.

Shop around. O'Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto, etc. They usually price match each other as well.

Ya, a hand full of people are reporting power increases in the dakotas & durango portions of the forum. It really helps out the magnum V8's and V6's. So, if your truck has an old map sensor, It's best just replacing it.

JASON! There is nothing wrong with SMP prodocts. I have used nothing but, including SP wires for years and have never had a problem with SMP. The problem is Autozone and Duralast products or some stuff Advance sells that is made in China.. Not arguing, just sayin'.

JOHN! My father had a problem with a SMP sensor once, so I never have bought one.

However, we can at least both agree they are better than Autozone crap.

Actually, the duralast map sensor says it's made in the usa. I didn't want to use the oem map sensor, because, my truck felt sluggish when it was 35k-40k miles and i have been fighting to get my mileage back. I didn't want the oem disc pack in my auto tranny. Because, my oem tranny crapped out at 50k. My feeling is use what your comfortable with.
