i took my truck to the front end to have the driver side wheel joint replaced. when i picked the truck up the guy said the passenger joint had play in it. so i crawled under there and the play seems to be in the holes the u joint sits in but it is very little just enough to barely feel. is this possible or am i just feeling wrong?

 

Oh it is very possible to feel play in the u-joint. It means the u_joint is bad. Replace it or you will be in the situation that I am in now. I have had my truck less than a month and just found out yesterday that the forward most u-joint at the yoke is bad and it hammered on the yoke so bad that I now have to replace the yoke. Your u-joint will start doing the same hammering routine on those flanges if the caps are moving inside them.

 

yea i think mine is already doing that cause thats where i feel the play is in the yoke. you always seem to have the answers for me. any chance on moving to TN i need a smart neighbor like you.

 

Actually it's funny you mention that. I am going down to my sisters in KY in two weeks and my wife and I have been considering moving there. what part of TN are you from? Maybe do a meet and greet while I am down there. I will be there for almost a month. any issues you have just ask.
