Default Cheap rear lift....

My rear end sags a little lower then the front. 01 4x4......anyways i was wondering which would be better and easier to install. A rear shackle lift or a extra leaf spring lift. Not looking for much just the cheap 2 in ones...

Yeah, a crappy lift that uses lift spacers in the front and a add a leaf in the back.
Its the lift spacers and the shocks that scare me, not the add-a-leaf.

add a leaf or blocks
Using another set of lift blocks is a bad idea to use on our trucks. The 4WD Ram has a lift block in the rear, and adding another is a no-no.

I think the best solution is too get new (stock) springs. It sounds like your springs are worn out and that is why they are sagging. Although the shackle lift sounds great (I would do it!), it is only a bandage to the real problem.

+1 i agree but im not sure if the springs are worn out. Ive got 275 tires on it now with wide backspacing. They were on the truck when i bought it. So i think the torsion bars were turned a little to prevent rubbing. The rear actually looks stock compared to the front. Although i made a 1300 trip with 5k on the rear. Why would you pick the shackle over the add a leaf...?

Torsion bars? This aint no pansy *** Chevy, we got the Solid Front Axle.

The reason for the shacke is: 1. Ease of install; DOnt have to talke spring out. 2. The add a leaf would be adding another leaf and cause the pack to be stiffer. In a truck that tows only once a month, I do not want a stiffer ride in a truck.

Default the shackles are so easy

4 bolts and its done, they cost ~17$ at oreily's idk if i spelt that right, that store spells it wierd, but i got a universal lift kit from there for that price and it has held up prety well i live where dirt roads and driving through fields is a daily thing, of course instead of puting the shackles in the front... they were longer than my stock rear ones so i just used them as a super cheap leveling kit lol

you know it has never clicked that the solid axles didnt have torsion bars. I havent messed with the solid axle enough to make that second knowledge. That puts a new light on the whole situation. IM probably going with the shackle kit....thanks
