Default Pinging

I have a 2000 Ram 1500 w/5.9 that keeps pinging. I run 93 octane, which is getting expensive, I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor and had the fuel injection system cleaned. What next?

+1 for plenum gasket. To much oil into the system and it throws everything out of whack, fuel/air ratio wise.

Don't try hooking up a tuner until the gasket is fixed, the pinging will only get worse.

Here is a replacement kit for the plenum, that doesn't just fix the gasket, but solves the whole problem causing the broken gaskets.

You can, of course, go the all-out route and replace the entire intake manifold with a high performance Air Gap unit instead, if you want.

depends on the mech. really. Could be done in two, could be done in a weekend. Realistically, it shouldnt take you more than an afternoon if you semi know what your doing.

Can be done in a day with the right tools and know how. I'd give up your weekend to do it right, meaning taking your time and cleaning everything. Also, you'll want to have the cat checked.

STOP TYPING so fast Mohawk!
