Default I need to educate myself on HID lights

I was at the alarm place with my wifes explorer getting some work done. I noticed a set of HID headlight conversion kits on the counter. The sale price is 199.00
I told a friend of mine and he told me you can get cheaper on ebay. So I took a peek at ebay and I'm shocked. Has anyone installed these HID's ??? Or are they all exactly what you pay for???
Thanx in advance

Eh, they mainly differ only in color. 6000K seems to be the favorite amongst most people. I've seen some for sale on the internet for around $80. It's something I believe you could install simply in the garage.

Doesn't seem to be that hard to install. Just make sure it comes with all the connectors and adapters needed included in the kit.

HID are not to hard to install, I got mine from http://vvme.com/ Yeah the web site looks sketchy but that's a China web site for ya lol. They have really fast shipping. The only problem some might have are the instructions that come with the kits are in Chinies. But every thing is plug and play really.

I have done plenty of research on this as i too am seriously looking at a set. I found a quality dealer on Ebay with excellent feedback. They come with the correct plug in connections for our trucks. They are also the metal weatherPROOF ballasts. You do not want the plastic ballasts as they are only waterRESISTANT. Here is a link to the ones I found.
