Question Front end problems

I am thinking about purchasing a 1999 dodge 1500 4x4 with a three inch lift. The front end seems to be a little loose to me. The tie rod ends also seem to have a little play. What should i look for concerning problems here and how much work is it to replace the front end rods bars, etc?
Thanks

Pretty easy to replace. You just need an alignment after. Any of the tools you need, you can borrow from autozone or wherever you get the parts.

Thanks for the reply zman. About the bars themselves, do they normally need replaced or just the ends?

The trac bar is the one that gets replaced most often.

The trackbar ends are not replaceable... the entire bar gets replaced. Not sure about the Lukes Link mod though, I think that replaces the frame end on the bar.

The tie rod ends just get unthreaded from the bar and new ones installed.

I tried the Lukes Link once. You have to bang out the ball joint from the bar and I couldn't get it out so I just sent it back and bought a whole new bar instead.

The tie rod 'ends' are not just ends on each end of a bar. It's an end on one side but the other side is a part of the bar. So if you're doing the whole setup, it's not just buying new ends.

I know the trac bar ends are not replaceable, I was just stating a fact about the trac bar.
