Default about how much is a tranny rebuild on a 01 ram? 1500

my transmission is slipping really bad. i was at a stop light, and the rpms went up to about 2500-3000 rpm's and i was moving pretty slowly..and iw ould give it gas, and it wouldnt hardly go any faster, then all of a sudden it jerked and took off better. now i did have the dealer i got it from put in a new transmission pump because it was making this whining noise in reverse. but now it just totally f'd up. so its sitting at a shop, and im wondering how much a tranny rebuild would cost? its 01 dodge ram sport 4.2l

thanks!

if there's nothing broken, it runs around 1500-2000 with new torque convertor.
be sure and flush the cooler and lines and remove or replace the check valve.
where are you located. if its anywhere within 500 miles of summerville, sc go see montec.

just paid $1500 in St Charles MO at the Transmission Shop including new converter. They had it in and out pretty quick because they've been doing a lot of them lately but it could take any where from 1 to 3 days.

1 to 3 days sounds right to me. It depends on how bad things are messed up. That can change the price tag. If your looking at over 2k. I would think about one of these. Odds are it will last long as well. Its been bulit up.
