OBD diagnostic problem

First, my truck is a 2001 Ram 5.9L diesel.
I have tried several diff. code readers but none of them will read out any codes at all. I bought Autotap hoping that might do something. Nada.... It reads the live data, but when I try to run the diagnostic data for reading codes it says it's not supported. This has me perplexed because it is clearly OBD II compliant.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks, Lee

I'd take it to Advance Auto, Autozone, or any other car parts store. They usually read codes for free. See if they can get one of their scanners to work.
There might be physical damage to the OBD-II connector not letting it make contact with your scanner's pins correctly, or maybe your computer's shot. How does the connector look?
