Default Purple Shaft Camshafts

Hey all, has anyone ever had any experience with these cams? Looking into getting this one for my truck

http://www.jegs.com/i/Mopar-Performa...2992/10002/-1#

Question: If I get this one will i have to do any modifying to make it work? Or will it plug and play just fine? I've been reading a ton about cams lately but some of the details still elude me...as in what fits in these engines and which ones are to big without modifying. lol

Specs: 1996 318 Magnum, 4x4, Gibson single exhaust.

Thanks

You won't notice very much change with that cam, IMHO if you're going to tear down the engine that much, go bigger and replace springs and retainers.

Also, I believe most of the mopar cams for our engines are on national backorder, I'd call jegs to be sure they have it, and it fits a magnum engine.

Those specs are just slightly above stock, so aim is right. We used purple cams in our circle track engines for quite a while and they held up quite well. I'd look more towards Hughes Engines, they have specific cams and parts for our engines.
