Default Upper Console Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the upper consul on a 2000 Dodge Ram? My map / reading lights don't work and the bulbs are fine. Something seems to wrong with the switch.

I can't pull the plastic cover off. There are push tabs that loosen the front of the consul and the back seems to pull out after sliding it back, but there seems to be something holding it in the middle and I can't find what's holding it.

Any thoughts? I appreciate the help and tahnks again for having me as a member!

Thats directly quoted from the 2001 service manual. The 99-01 is a little different than what I have.

lol Yea, it is a little different. It's been forever since I've had mine off, but I think I can get you close.

There is 2 screws up towards the windshield. Remove those, and you should be able to slid back towards the seats. Do it carefully though! Dodge plastic likes to break and you have connected wires up there.

btw, What is a Flowmaster Force II exhaust? Been almost a year since I've bought any of their products, and I don't recall ever hearing about a kit/cat back named that... End question: What series is it?

I believe its a 70 series. It gets compliments!! Sounds good while the peddle is down and I hardly notice any drone when its at speed.
