Default locker again

i know someone else here is interested in lockers but it is for a completely differant truck...

i will be running 37" tires, and 5.13 gears. my quetion is, is the detroit softlocker strong enough to handle the big tires and gears?

i mean i know you order the locker due to carrier size, or gear rather, and go from there. but is it strong enough?

Just get a Detroit locker and be done with it. Its a stout piece that will give you no strength issues, almost guaranteed.

I have never heard of the "soft locker".

you're gonna have to get a whole new carrier for your gears. the biggest gears our carrier will go is 4.11 i believe.

i don't know what a soft locker is either, but for 37" tires you need the muscle of a detroit. pick the locker first ($$$$), then the gear, and the gear will determine the carrier. i'm guessing now, but i think there's 2 sizes. 4.11 and down and 4.56 and up.

haha pick the locker first to see if you can afford it...

The soft locker is the new name for the Detroit full. Go for it, I bet you won't regret it!
The best part is the TRUE burnouts!

yes. i like the true burnouts but not when i will be running around on 37X13 boggers... not a good idea... but the off road traction is the best i see with the locker so i will be going with the detroit soft locker in the rear, and leaving hte front alone, just new carrier, and gears...

as for getting the locker first. and then the gears.. i will be ordering everything at the same time from the same people. the cheapest place i found... 4wheelonline.com

unless of coarse someone shows me i can get them from somewhere else and shop around to get the parts cheaper... the gears esspecially... i cant raelly find them for to cheap... and the locker, the cheapest i found was a whole whooping 650-700 bucks from that site i gave earlier...

like i said, anyone that has a cheaper site for me to order from, it would be awesome...

check here. and if they're not cheaper, give them a call. they're real gung ho.
the website is a little cheesy, and they're mostly jeep, but they're good.

they have this... DET187C172A advertised for $585
