News just in about my TRANS ahh this sucks plese read an post.....
My 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 - i just pay'd for the truck was 1500 dollars and i thought i was getting a good deal well now the trans is gunna cost me $2,186.00$ well dose that sound right ? i need to know cause im going over their tomorrow so let me know what to ask for and price whise?

that's a little on the high side. the sort of normal range is $1500-2000 depending on how many new parts you need, and what brand and cost they are. also depending on torque converter, cooler, etc.
have they removed and torn down the transmission yet, or can you drive away for another opinion ?
where are you located ? (put that in your profile and your truck info in the sig)
questions to ask -
ask for a parts list/build sheet. what makes up this $2100. get montec to review it.
i'm just guessing, but its maybe $600-1000 for labor + parts. again, ask monte for that breakdown. the labor hours should be somewhat standard/flat rate. the labor rate is a BIG variable, and cheaper is not necessarily better.
what is the warranty ? look for 3yr/36,000 mi. screw 1/12k for $2100
also check reputation of the shop. its hard to do, but some places will say they offer a warranty, but not actually back it up with any real work. you have to ask other customers by stalking them in the parking lot.
